The Code is an initiative designed to help young people from diverse backgrounds take the first steps into a career in advertising and media. From the outside this world can feel as inaccessible as a puzzle box. Hence the identity, which viewed from one specific angle, becomes the first steps of a staircase.

As someone totally useless at maths it was a delight to find the geometry roughed out for the puzzle box actually worked in real life. We made a real cube that magically flips from something quite abstract to the ‘staircase’.

Identity as sculpture: the logo being made in wood and paint, blood sweat and sandpaper.

The logo forms Escher-esque staircases, upon which mentors and interns can meet halfway.
